Now for some knitting`

So I decided to tackle a hat. my first hat. So on I went to RAvelry and found a great one skein noro swirl pattern. loved it. t hought Id make it for jason...well, tell me, jason, is it girlie????

I mean, I had to frog it. I used my 10circs when i meant to use my 8s because I only have up to 7 dpns, which i need to finish it off. well, you know how it is when you try to knit on a circle thats too damn big...it doesnt work!!!

so i frogged it. im thankful it only took a couple hours....so now i just have to see if jason thinks the colorway is too damn girlie - i think it is - because if he thinks so, im just going to size it down and make it for me. the plan was to originally make him this said hat,m and make a caliometry headband for me, buuuuuuuut....his head is huge...and this is girlie...so i dunno....i need input...

Well look what the cat(s) dragged in

The above cats...they felt the need to do this......

Its head was over by the door, along with some attatched innards...thanks guys. thanks.

picture heavy post!!!

So this will be a very picture heavy post!!!
Well, I made some coasters!!! Here is one of them, and it being in use!!! Thank god. I'm so tired of cleaning rings off that windowsill...now to just get my sister (and me) to use them! btw, a great project for using up scrap yarn!
The third version/last ever version for a while of the MDKAL on yahoo...i did three colors with this S&C yarn, and it reminded me how much I love P&C and how much better it is....I like the finished product...

Tried my hand at some entrelac, thanks to the ladies at the yahoo group, who provided a great tutorial. I probably wouldnt have tried it on my own, but I love it....I really do! MY sister has this ball of icky red heart stuff that hurts my hands to knit with, but she adores it, and it is a pretty color way...I want to see if I can make something out of it for her....using...entrelac! I used a diasy ombre h ere, not the best choice, too light to pop, really. but i have a cone and then some left from a project...i got overzealous...i dont actually like the colorway....

Btw, dad had this smart idea of making cookeis and leaving them on the counter to cool with 2 pmsing teens (well, maybe I'm not) in the house...haha!!

shes a tool, a douche, and a fucking waste.

I dont say this often - but i loathe her. i really loathe her.

cynthia - i work with her, and well, i hate her. she doesnt do her job and she feels the need to touch me. in fact, i wrote auntie bubbopants a letter about her and it was featured in twir #4.

well we had our meeting today....the manadatory front desk meeting that only 4 people (including me) showed up to....so about 5 people missing.

well cynthia - who has called off for a week - showed us her :"battle scars". She fell in the wlamart parking lot and "BROKE" her leg. Bull. and shit.

she walks in on crutches with an immoblizer. I lived in one of those for most of my senior year. im so over it. im actually too pissed to be funny about it. im so tired of her bullshit.

and john, if youre reading this - fucking fire her.

mmmkay. thanks.

Kitties and projects

So I'm super late posting this all - but I went on vacation. and with my computer down, i have to wait til my sister is at school - but since I work nghts, I'm ususally asleep at that time...oh well.

Well, Jason loved his blanket, and course I forgot to get pics of it.....Which makes me want to scream.

I did a bunch of stuffed hearts this Valentines Day and gave them all to BUG cuz well, she loved them!

Then Mom asked me to make a dishcloth for her boss's birthday before I left town. I went ahead and used a pattern from Cloths of Love since they are so beautiful, and the kind of business they are in. My mother works for the State, as a employment coach for the mentally disabled. Cam, her boss, oversees the whole county. I finished it on Sunday before I left to go to the train, and knitted up a heart in the same color.

Additionally, I taught Jason how to knit!!! I'm so proud of him. He says he isnt sure that it will be his next addiction, but he does like it, and he's awfully damn cute doing it. Notice the cutest little tongue hanging out...

And then there is Dinah. Sweet Sweet doorstep kitty, Dinah - like in Alice in Wonderland. I lov her. I don't know quite where she is right now. I dont hear her so i assume she is sleeping...

Ain't she precious????

i <3 propaganda

x Posted from a myspace bulletin/blog.

It's regarding supporting our troops, so if you're offending, my bad - but you should respect my opinions enough to not leave foul comments on my page.

WARNING: its a little foul in itself

So, I just want to take a minute to adress propaganda - ya know, that crap that parties/people spew to try to sway someone....well this rant is in regards to a certain myspace bulletin that basically tries to guilt us tax paying americans into supporting our troops. I know you all have seen it. it says things like, "You put on your anti war/don't support the troops shirt, and go meet up with your friends. He still fights for your right to wear that shirt." or "You have a headache so you call in sick - he gets shot at and keeps going."

BULL. SHIT.

Now, im sorry if this offends you, but appearantly a solider overseas is fighting for my right to say it....Here we go

1) There is no draft. Soldiers sign up for duty. I don't dictate where they are stationed. Get off my dick, quit being a bitch about it. I'm tired of non-military personnel telling me that I'm a horrible person because I dont' support the war. Am I supposed to?

No.2) How are they fighting for MY freedom? No. They aren't. They are giving our freedoms to other countries. Not my issue. They aren't fighting here. They are overseas in a country that honestly, probably would have been better off without them. I know I would give up my right to vote to save thousands of lives, so lets not spout that crap.

3) Did no one pay attention to the result of British Imperialism?!?!?! HELLO!!!!!! (see above point on - they are fighting to give our rights/freedoms to other countries)

4) War is stupid. And honestly, it was based on false pretenses, so why should I be made to feel like shit to humor someone?LISTEN, just because I am anti-war, does not make me anti-troops.

Honestly people. I think our president has made some horrible mistakes. I don't agree with his politics. I think this "war" is stupid. We shouldn't have stuck our nose into a civil war thats been continuing on for years. But, those soldiers are there. And I don't want them to die. I want them to come home and see their families - or make families - go to college - do wtfever they want to do. I don't want them to die. But I want this "war" to end.

Jesus christ, GOP. Get your head out of your ass.

PS-same thing applies to "Pro-Choice does not mean Anti-Life"

i finished something

ok, so i finished the mid month kal from january on the yahoo group, but i made it a little smaller because, well, we dont use them much, and we prefer our dishcloths smaller - since we only wipe tables with them. I know I twisted a row in the middle between the two sets of patterns but I was definately done with this stupid thing....its so soft though. I used S&C - and although i wasnt too pleased with the stranding I got with it, it is a soft yarn...but im dedicated to P&C for sure now!

Additionally, i finished the pattern grid for jason's guitar cloth. well, its a rough one, but i know what it says. (Gote is Jason's nickname). I'm thinking about doing it sideways and striped - like the guitar strap I'm making him. I'm pretty stoked about it. The goal is to ship it to him for VDay. They (http://www.myspace.com/onenighstanmusic) have a show a couple days afterwards, so we will see how it goes...it would be nice to BE THERE for the show and just about everything, but June will come quick enough....i hope....

Well, I accomplished something

So, yesterday I went with Mary, Dan and Keira to the Hammocks.

So, here we go with the pics from that:
Mary n I (pigtails) at the playground.

At the start of the trail

Dan, Mary, n Keira on the trail

The thinking tree!

random exercise spot

AND NOW ANIMALS WE SAW!!!!

There was another baby on the other side of the mommy.
the interesting thing about this pic is that it was taken at a part of the trail where it becomes basically a couple of boards over the water, and there is only one hand rail...as in THE OTHER SIDE IS OPEN...geeze louise, ya know? gator + no hand rail = babies being eaten by alligators. luckily, dan carried keira around

Deer. it stood there for quite a long time actually. kind of cool...

and now for the artsy pics i took:

Thats about it! enjoy!

The first post!

Well guys, its official! I now have a place to update about all my knitting projects (right now there is ... um...2 dishcloths, 1 baby blanket, 1 "Why Sell Weed When You Can Smoke It" Blanket for my boyfriend (original name, huh?), and a toddler blanket. Oh! and a scarf for my mom. I guess I don't always get a lot done, but when I do finish something, it kind of gets the ball rolling on finishing EVERYTHING!

So hello to all my KAL friends! Hopefully there will be something on here shortly!

In non-knitting news, I'm pretty sure that I have poisonwood. Both sides of my face are all puffy and itchy and ever so red. It's creeping down my body, and there just isn't a strong enough coritsone cream. Drat not having insurance! Usually I just head to the doc's for steriods and cortisone shots. Yup, I get it that bad. It's been raining here, and my truck "peed" on me this morning after work (11p-7a night shift). [Author's note: "peeing" refers to when you get into a vehicle, and it has rained, and when you get in, all of the water that is being "stored" in that little lip (some of you know what I mean, I hope) just pours down on you! its fabulous. I hate it.] So i'm pretty sure I got this from a vehicle with bladder issues. And I dont have a day off til Wednesday....grrr.

whatever. What can ya do?

Love n Hugs,
Dani
